(Certificate or Master of Cultivation/Xiuxing—MXS修士Xiu-Shih): This four to five-year full time program involves one to two years of regular coursework (39 credits) and three years of intensive meditative retreat (9 credit hours per year). The student is also required to take at least one 30-day retreat to prepare for the three-year intensive. Up to 30 credit hours (42%) could be taken on-line as distance-learning courses. At least 72 credits are required to earn either a Master or Certificate in Cultivation/Xuixing.
